EventsIn 2020 the Capitoline Museums, with various exhibitions and initiatives, celebrate 150 years of Rome's capital. The first exhibition, visible as of January 2021, Collecting masterpieces) presents a selection of sculptural works (about 90) from the Torlonia collection, in the new exhibition venue of Villa Caffarelli, recently reopened to the public. The marbles, acquired in the 19th century, have been restored with the contribution of the Bulgari Maison. The collection returns to the public after another 80 years, in a journey that begins with a tribute to the commitment of the Torlonia Museum Foundation, initiated at the behest of Prince Alexander, and consists of a succession of works, mostly unpublished, from the Greek and Roman periods. The exedra of the Capitoline Museums brings together other important works of iconography, sculptural art and Roman collecting.
