EventsThe stained glass window depicting Santo Stefano Protomartire (St. Stephen) was located on the back wall of the scarsella in the Church of Santo Stefano alle Corti, in the Municipality of Rignano sull'Arno. After the restoration it was installed in the Parish Church of San Leolino. The window with the image of the saint, within a circular band with flowers and racemes, was created at the beginning of the sixteenth century by the Jesuit Friars (or Ingesuati) of San Giusto alle Mura di Firenze, specialized in this art, both in the making of the glass sheets and the pigmentation of the vitreous mixture. In the window, the style and certain facial details, but also the chiaroscuro stroke and drapery of the garments, are reminiscent of Perugino’s style as attested by the study conducted by Lucia Bencistà.
