EventsGuado Urbino, a non-profit cultural association aimed at promoting and developing craftsmanship and creativity, has opened a store in the heart of Urbino’s historic center. The “guado” is an ancient blue pigment used in Europe up to the 17th century , which has recently enjoyed a comeback and is currently used to dye fabrics and yarns, as well as wooden frames and soaps, all products made by local artisans and sold at the store at Via Mazzini 50. Among the artisans selling their creations are: Olivia Monteforte (handmade shoes); D'Arte Restauro Ylenia Mancinelli and Michele Ciaroni (decoration and restoration); Antica Casteldurante di Gilberto Galavotti and Giuliano Smacchia (classic majolicaware replicas); Daniele Giombi (typical terracotta items); Oasi Colori Massimo Baldini (natural pigments); Evacresce Michelina Formentin (sewing and dyeing). The store will reopen on February 10.
