Marinella

Shortly before the start of World War One, Eugenio Marinella started his workshop along Riviera di Chiaia, where he made shirts and ties for wealthy Neapolitans. In the eighties, the President of the Italian Republic, Francesco Cossiga, became the brand’s “ambassador” by giving chiefs of state a box containing five Marinella ties as a gift. Luchino Visconti was also a great Marinella tie fan and his favorites were those on a blue and red ground, unlined as a scarf. Instead, Aristotele Onassis bought them all black. In 2014, the E.Marinella brand celebrated its 100th anniversary.
