Gabriele Gmeiner decided to work in Venice after about ten years of studying and training all over Europe, including the study of artisanal shoemaking techniques at London’s Cordwainers College and saddlery at the Centre de Formation Technologique Grégoire of Paris, where she worked at the John Lobb and Hermès workshops. Since 2002, she has been making custom-made women’s and men’s shoes, in a wide range of leathers and models, at her workshop in Campiello del Sol. Everything is made, of course, by using top-quality materials and, above all, starting by measuring the customer’s feet to make the shoetree and ensure an impeccable fit.
