Toscolano 1381

Marco Castellini, member of IAPMA (International Association of Paper Makers and Artists), today is the only Master Papermaker to carry on the tradition of Toscolano, an ancient Italian papermaking centre of 14th century origin. His activity takes place in the papermaking laboratory of Toscolano Maderno, on Lake Garda, where he produces handmade paper daily, combining traditional procedures, on which he bases his technique, with continuous methodological research and a study on the use of materials (mainly vegetable fibres). His papers are used by public institutions (such as museums, museum poles and art academies), but also communication agencies, publishing houses and private individuals.
