Since 1993, the Teatro Agricolo cultural association has dedicated itself to the creation of leather masks used for the theater, but also for television and cinema. Everything starts with a wooden form. Every detail, from the excellent leather, to the brass clasps, up to the choice of copper for framing the inside, ensures that the mask fits perfectly to the actor's face. The workmanship is faithful to the sixteenth-century Italian manner of mask-making and therefore follows the ancient leather-beating technique of the Commedia dell'Arte. The production of masks is also accompanied by an intense teaching activity, both theoretical and practical, on the mask-maker’s craft and on the Commedia.
