As a stage and screen actor, Stefano Nicolao developed such a passion for costumes that, in 1980, he started his own workshop which has become, over time, very popular with major theatres all over the world and international filmmaking productions. Clothing, linens, headgear, cloaks… fabulous costumes featured in prestigious collections such as at New York’s MET Costume Institute. In addition to historical creations for opera houses, prose theatres, ballet companies, filmmaking and television productions, Nicolao also makes contemporary models inspired by clothing of the past, by modernizing 18th-century jackets, wedding gowns and for medieval, renaissance and 19th-century re-enactments.
