Born in Trieste in 1957, Fabio Di Natale began studying modern transverse flute at the age of 11 and, seven years later, he was attracted to the one-keyed flute soon after he played it by chance. From then on, he devoted himself to the study of original instruments kept in museums or private collections. In the past few years, by researching into materials that can replace wood and by collaborating with major concert artists, Fabio Di Natale has created some innovative instruments by using age-old artisan techniques combined with special acoustic resins. These instruments are used by Italy’s most prestigious music schools and by many internationally-renowned musicians.
