Aniello Piacente, expert engraver and art enthusiast, opened his own individual firm in 1974 in Ercolano. Having trained with world-famous sculptors and learned much about the local tradition, he creates highly prestigious cameos. In his hands, rough pieces of shell, primarily sardonic and carnelian, take the form of delicate artworks, classic in style and innovative at the same time.
