To make a pan it is necessary to start with a sheet of pure copper, of a thickness of at least 2mm, given that if it were any thinner than this, when the piece is fired it would not be able to withstand the tinning process. The finest blades are used for artistic work. These are just some of the secrets of Rameria Mazzetti, a family of coppersmiths who have been in business since 1857. When possible, the tinning process is still done with the old forge of 1845 fueled by coal. Then there is the hammering, an process in which it is essential that heating and cooling are alternated to make the pot eternal. Finally, there is the tinning, a manual process in which an object is brought to a temperature of 280 ° - 300 °C.
