Knowledge of art techniques, manual skill and, above all, artistic feeling and respect. These are the qualities one needs to be a great restorer and Alvise Boccanegra has them all. And if one considers that he trained at the school of Master Maximilian Leuthenmayr, it is immediately clear that this young restorer is one of the best on the current restoration scene. He started his own workshop for the restoration of wooden artifacts in 2011, by specialising in carving, turning, French polishing with the tampon technique, gouache gilding and painting with ancient tempera colours. He also collaborates with antique dealers, art collectors and Venetian Heritage, a well-known international organization committed to the safeguarding of Venice.
