Legatoria Artigiana Napoli

Legatoria Artigiana Napoli carries on the business started by the Eliseo family in the late 1800s and which today is housed in the 16th-century courtyard of Palazzo Marigliano, on Via San Biagio dei Librai, a historic street lined with publish- ing houses, printers and bookshops. In the high-ceilinged rooms there are still the punches for hot gilding in pure gold on display and, just like in the beginning, the work- shop deals with the restoration and binding of books, old and not so old: sewing frames, backing gauzes, Japanese paper, parchments and marbled paper. Age-old techniques and fine materials with which family albums, cases and cus- tomized objects are also made.
