At 2 p.m. on February 12, 2021<\/strong>, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the first Italian Fashion Show<\/strong> and the 50th anniversary of the death of Giovanni Battista Giorgini<\/strong> (Forte dei Marmi 25.08.1898-Florence 02.01.1971) who was its organizer, and for this reason known as the “father of made in Italy”, an international online conference<\/strong> will be held entitled: Giovanni Battista Giorgini, from Artistic Craftsmanship to High Fashion, Italian Soft Power<\/em>. Organized by Neri Fadigati, President of Archivio Giorgini <\/strong>and University of Bologna<\/strong>, in collaboration with Associazione OMA – Osservatorio dei Mestieri d’Arte<\/strong>, an instrumental entity of Fondazione CR Firenze <\/strong>that supports it together with other banking foundations, the initiative will see the participation of professors and experts in the field connected from various countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The coordination of the meeting will be held from the ballroom of Villa Torrigiani in Florence<\/strong>, exactly where the historic first presentation took place on February 12th 1951<\/strong>, which, thanks to the participation of international buyers and journalists consecrated the birth of Italian fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The initiative is the first of the series planned to celebrate the two anniversaries, which coincide with the 100th edition of Pitti Uomo<\/strong> to be held in June<\/strong>.
