Pierluigi Ghianda, who passed away in 2015, was called "the poet of wood", for the knowledge, love and respect he had when working with the material. In his workshop, the craftsmen who grew with him create furniture and wooden objects of various kinds, without the use of nails, but skills in creating interlocking joints or dovetails, from the simplest to the most ingenious. Made with quality wood, such as rosewood and ebony, or the more common pear wood, each piece from the Bottega Ghianda is made with rare perfection, smoothed and refined by the distinctly sensitive artisan's patient hands.
