A light source: the first edition of the biannual Award of the La Grande Bellezza project

To valorize and promote the world of high Italian craftsmanship. This is the aim of the project La Grande Bellezza The Dream FactoryStarhotels' new initiative of contemporary patronage, strongly supported by the Group's President, Elisabetta Fabri: "I have had the privilege of living in Florence, the cradle of beauty, of the art of know-how. I have breathed in beauty, I have internalized it deeply, traveling extensively and continuously throughout Italy. Giving visibility and commissions to the artisans - who are the very basis of the Made in Italy excellence that the whole world admires and envies us - has always been my secret dream: this project has been created to make it come true." Among the various initiatives linked to La Grande Bellezza, the institution of a biannual Award, focused on the production of artisan works that fit into the context of hospitality. The first edition of the Award is dedicated to the theme "A light source". Artisans are invited to present new works tied in various ways, including figuratively, to the theme of lighting: lamps, candlesticks, candles, mirrors, glass, or other objects that emanate or reflect light. The artisan proclaimed winner on 1 October in Venice, in the prestigious setting of Homo Faber 2020, will be awarded 10,000 euros, to be used for the furthering of his/her activity. Deadline for submitting your application: 15 April 2020 - DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL 25 MAY. La Grande Bellezza 5 Ten finalists and one winner, which the jury will determine at its sole discretion. For the evaluation, particular attention will be given to those works capable of valorizing the theme of Italian beauty as well as to those that highlight the combination of manual skill and creativity, with a contemporary interpretation of complex and now rare traditional techniques.
