Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua

The history of the Bevilacqua family in the weaving business dates back to 1499. The current company, however, was officially started by Luigi Bevilacqua in 1875 with 18th-century looms from the Scuola della Seta (Silk School) of the Republic of Venice, which are still used to  make raised velvets and soprarizzi velvets of rare beauty, while Luigi Bevilacqua added the use of 19th-century Jacquard looms. The business was later expanded to include power looms, to which  Emanuele Bevilacqua is now passionately devoted. In addition to beautiful upholstery fabrics, the two shops on Campo Santa Maria del Giglio and Fondamenta Canonica also sell finished products. Do not miss the chance to see the age-old looms at the historic headquarters.
