Liuteria Quintavalla

The activity of luthier Martino Quintavalla originates from a passion for music and manual work but draws on the technological and scientific approach matured during his previous work as a researcher in materials engineering and the experience in the workshop with luthier Federico Gabrielli with whom he carried out a research project on mandolins, funded by the World Wood Day Foundation in 2019. Since 2020 he opened his own workshop in Valtellina, where he designs and manufactures plucked instruments, especially mandolins, guitars and ukuleles, carrying out an in-depth study of both the design, aimed at maximum acoustic performance, and the choice of materials, combining tradition with innovative elements that improve the timbre and playability.
