The starting point for Francesco Navanzino's firm, in 1974, was certainly the study and interpretation of the acanthus of the Royal School of Ceramics in Caltagirone. This passion for tradition still remains but is combined with the quest for contemporary forms and colours, also working with ideas from private customers and designers. The workshop uses the ancient techniques of a third firing and the historical casts of the now defunct artistic terracotta factory of Vella, symbol of elegant traditional baroque majolica in Caltagirone.
